The Voice

For you reality show freaks out there, you should really watch the new, hottest reality show at the moment: THE VOICE.

It’s kind of the same with American Idol, all about searching for a new talented American singer. However, The Voice’s concept is a lot cooler than American Idol’s. The tagline The Voice’s emphasize is “the blind audition”, which really depicts how the judgement method’s going to be. All the judges judge purely based on the contestant voice without even barely looking at the contestant, so the decision they make won’t be influenced by physical appearance (for more info on The Voice, please, go ask uncle Google!). And I’m friggin’ excited with this reality show! Why?

First of all, the contestants are all mad talented! There is not a single bad voice on the stage. Even one good voice among the bunch still can be rejected which I kinda not know which one to reject if I were the judge. I know they must be pre-auditioned first, but I feel like The Voice is really taking this show seriously. No silly contestant is purposely put on TV just to draw viewers’ attention like American Idol does (sorry), sometimes it’s just a waste of time.

Their “blind audition” concept is just perfect. We know that not all beautiful people can sing, and not all ugly people have ugly voice. That’s why this blind audition is really interesting. American Idol sometimes let a mediocre-voice contestant pass through the final round just because that person has a beautiful appearance that supports their mediocre voice with a thought that that person is going to be succeed in the music industry because they have “the look” though they don’t sing really well. And lately, I feel like American Idol loosen up their standard in voice quality season by season although there’s a broad of voice variety from the contestants this season.

The last one is about the judges / coach (the judges will also be the contestants’ voice coach later on):

The judges: Adam Levine - Cee-Lo Green - Christina Aguilera - Blake Shelton

Christina Aguilera. God knows she’s like the goddess of pop or RnB or soul or whatever (seriously, she can sing anything with her thick, awesome voice). She is just the perfect judge for this kind of reality show. Like, OMFG! I would loveeeee to be coached by her. And the fact that we are growing up listening to her music makes her get a spot on everybody’s heart easily.

Cee-Lo Green. This “F*** You” or “Forget You” performer is as adorable as a teddy bear. I just realized this when I watched the show. But he is a talented singer too. His album, “The Lady Killer”, is just great with a touch of oldies music style (I don’t know the genre) and I love it! His voice is beyond awesome. And he seems like a pretty cool guy with a charming smile (look at those wide smile and white teeth!).

Adam Levine. Well, what can I say about this Maroon 5 lead singer? He got the charm, he got the look, he got the voice, he got his cool band backing him up, he got a gorgeous model girlfriend, he got the fame, and one thing I just knew from the show: he turns out to be really funny.

Blake Shelton. I am really sorry, but I don’t really know this guy since I’m not a big fan of country music. All I know is that he is a successful country singer and married to Miranda Lambert (which is also a country singer). So, you better Google him.

What I like from the judges is that they are all an expert in their own music genre. This really gives the contestant a wide variation to choose the coach they want to work with. If I were one of the contestant, I surely am will choose Christina Aguilera. No doubt.

One random thing I like from The Voice is the automatic-turning chair. I don’t know, I just find that thing pretty cool. Because we are used to having a format where all the judges stare to the contestant through the entire performance. Here at The Voice, the judges are all seating on the automatic-turning chair which isn’t facing to the stage but facing the audience so they won’t look at the contestant’s physical appearance. Then they judge the contestant’s voice and if the judge like it, they will have to push a button in front of them so the chair will turn around to face the stage to see the actual appearance of the singer. And that’s pretty awesome to me, I don’t know why. It gives such an exaggeration feeling to show hahahahahaha

So, I think American Idol should step up their game if they don’t want to lose the audience. Because, I think The Voice is stealing people’s attention, especially Americans’ right now, with their new and fresh concept and method of judging. And look at those famous and talented judges, they are also one factor why everybody is watching the show. Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez is kind of out of date, don’t you think? Well, at least that’s what I think. Or maybe, we just simply getting tired of too many seasons of American Idol.

BRUNO MARS LIVE IN JAKARTA 5 APRIL 2011

Gue nyampe di FX buat parkir mobil (tinggal nyebrang kan Istora sama FX) sekitar jam 4an dan kebetulan banget ketemu temen kampus gue yang mau nonton Bruno Mars juga. Tadinya gue mau nyebrang ke Istora entar-entaran aja sekitar jam 5 an gitu soalnya open gate jam 6 sore dan gue janjian sama temen gue yang lain sekitar jam segituan karena doi harus ngantor dulu. tapi, temen kampus gue ini malah ngajakkin nyebrang ke Istora saat itu juga, akhirnya gue ikutan aja karena gue sendirian juga di FX. dan ternyata emang orang-orang udah pada ngantri jam segitu, tapi ngantrinya masih cukup sepi, hingga akhirnya… GUE DAPET SPOT DI DEPAN PANGGUNG.

Bruno Mars decided not to have any opening act. so, we waited about 4 hours (kalo diitung dari jam 4 sore nunggu open gate) sampe akhirnya Bruno Mars keluar ke atas panggung sekitar jam 8an.

Begitu yang ditunggu-tunggu keluar, semua orang, terutama cewek-cewek di paling depan (termasuk gue) langsung HEBOH. yang tadinya berdiri santai, semuanya langsung dorong-dorongan kayak ibu-ibu mau dibagiin jatah sembako (eh tapi kalo sembakonya berbentuk Bruno Mars, gue juga bakalan heboh berebutan sih…).

 

Pembukaan diisi oleh Bruno Mars yang langsung ngambil alih posisi drummer. He was FRIGGIN AWESOME on the drum!!!! A man with full of talents indeed! He was showing his mad skill on the drum. terus langsung lanjut ke lagu pertama yaitu “The Other Side”, and we were all sing along. Jujur, gue lupa urutan-urutan lagunya, tapi yang jelas doi nyanyiin semua lagunya kecuali “Talking To The Moon”.

Bruno Mars juga nyanyiin lagu “Nothin On You” with his own version, without B.O.B rap. bagian rap nya diisi liriknya dia sendiri yang gue hafal mati di luar kepala sementara semua orang pada diem, cuma gue doang yang ikutan nyanyi keras-keras deh kayaknya hahahaha (yes, I’m a die hard HOOLIGANS!). tapi bagian yang paling bikin iri plus bikin mau bunuh diri adalah…. ADA 1 CEWEK YANG DINYANYIIN SAMA BRUNO MARS! langsung geger 1 Istora Senayan. gak percaya? cek video nya nih:

gak ngerti lagi deh gimana kalo yang dinyanyiin itu gue, bisa epilepsi di tempat kali. and hear how he sang “Indonesian girls…” with that pretty voice. DAMN IT!

momen faforit gue adalah waktu Bruno Mars nyanyi “Runaway Baby”. semua gaya dance nya H.O.T gila-gilaan!!! he knows how to drive all the girls craaaazy! apalagi pas di bagian “there’s only one carrot and they all gotta share it!” while pointing to his “carrot” (silahkan di loncat ke menit 1:25)

BIKIN MAU PINGSAN MASSAL GAK SIH??? *geragotin wortel*

 

momen faforit ke dua adalah waktu doi nyanyi lagu “Our First Time”. Secara itu lagu liriknya sensual sekali (silahkan di Google sendiri liriknya), doi nyanyiinnya juga pake mendesah-desah gitu kan bikin imajinasi meliar kemana-mana *ehm*. sayang gak ada video nya sih, belom nemu lebih tepatnya.

 

Lagu “Just The Way You Are” jadi kurang dapet feel nya karena gak dipake pas di penutupan konser, yang dijadiin lagu penutup malah “Runaway Baby”.

 

Anyway, I was screaming Philip’s name (the backing vocal guy) at the whole show. abisnya, semua orang pada neriakkin Bruno Mars, kalo gue ikutan neriakkin juga doi gak bakalan denger. akhirnya gue memilih untuk neriakkin si Phil “I LOVE YOU” berkali-kali secara gue sama dia hadep-hadepan gitu, dan kebetulan dari antara semua cewek-cewek bagian depan yang tau namanya doi dan neriakkin doi cuma gue doang. jadilah si Phil kiss bye ke gue dan bilang “I LOVE YOU” balik. GILAAAAAAA SENENG BANGEEEEETTTT!!!! I WAS BLOOOOOWN AWAY!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA gak papa deh gak dapet dari Bruno Mars, dari Phil juga udah cukup hihihihi. ngomong-ngomong yang mana sih Phil? nih yang ini orangnya:

Phil is also in the Smeezington (nama tim dimana mereka produce lagu bareng Bruno Mars juga) and he also writes music with Mr. Bruno Mars himself and they are best friends.

gue sebenernya pengen neriakkin band member yang lain sebenernya tapi berdirinya pada jauh-jauh di belakang, gak kuat teriak kenceng-kenceng gara-gara gak boleh bawa minum ke dalem tempat konser. dan ya, leher gue langsung somplak selesai konser. besokkan paginya, badan gue mulai dari kaki, tangan, sampe leher bagian belakang sakit semua. dan gara-gara kebanyakkan teriak-teriak, kalo mangap aja sakit lho mulut gue. ekstrim ye? berarti gue semalem super heboh deh kayaknya. Ya gimana gak mau heboh, orang yang berdiri di depan gue tuh cewe bertubuh tinggi gede plus gendut gitu dan semaleman selama konser gue kerjaannya main sikut-sikutan sama doi. makanya baru setengah jam konser energi gue udah abis gara-gara perang main sikut-sikutan sama orang depan. terus ada lagi cewek kecil pendek, lebih pendek dari gue sok-sok nyelip dari belakang ke samping gue. gue ketekkin aja, kepalanya gue taro tangan gue yang pegel sambil moto-motoin plus video in Bruno Mars hahahahahahahaha

 

tapi sayang nya, durasi konser nya sebentar banget deh, masa cuma 1 jam 15 menit an gitu. gue gak tau ini cuma perasaan gue doang apa gimana, tapi gue merasa konser nya tuh kayak cepet-cepet gitu lho. gue kan sering nontonin konser Bruno Mars yang di negara-negara lain ya di Youtube, he was like taking more time at the stage and joking around more. kalo kemaren ini tuh dia kayak nyanyinya disambung terus, bercanda sama ngobrol-ngobrolnya dikit banget. terus kata temen gue yang nonton di belakang, sound system nya kurang memuaskan gitu. gue gak ngeh sih kalo soal sound system.

OVERALL… the concert was hella SICKKKKK!!! I was having an EXTREMELY GREAT TIME!! Gue orangnya jarang banget emang nonton konser. kalo gak suka-suka amat ya males juga beli tiket plus ngeluarin uangnya. Tapi kalo emang udah nge fans banget sampe gak ketolong lagi, bakal gue bela-belain deh demi ngeliat orangnya hahaha. This Bruno Mars concert is a lifetime experience. Gue gak nyangka doi yang baru terkenal gitu langsung di boyong ke sini sama oom Adrie Subono (thanks berat oom!), sould out pula tiketnya! ternyata, diem-diem penggemarnya Bruno Mars banyak juga ya di Indonesia

Thanks Bruno and the band for coming to Indonesia, hope you guys got a great time here. Thank you Bruno for getting wild with us at the concert LOL

Sebelum gue me-review konser Bruno Mars besok, ada baiknya gue tulis dulu sejarah singkat gimana gue bisa tergila-gila sama Bruno Mars a.k.a Peter Gene Hernandez. yaaa itung-itung pemanasan :p

Waktu itu gue inget banget pulang kuliah di mobil gak sengaja denger lagu Nothing On You yang featuring B.O.B di radio. Tapi gue pikir yang nyanyi itu vokalisnya One Republic si Ryan Tedder hahahaha. terus baru deh gue liat video klip nya di MTV, ternyata yang nyanyi namanya Bruno Mars. tapi saat itu masih biasa aja, masih sebatas suka lagunya doang. eh gak lama kemudian, keluar lagi video klip Billionaire yang featuring Travie McCoy. Gue pikir, kok eksis banget ini orang featuring dimana-mana (sotoy, padahal cuma 2 lagu). akhirnya gue Google lah Bruno Mars. ehhhh taunya doi gaul banget jadi produser sama penulis lagu plus bikin lagu hits dimana-mana. mulailah gue kagum, apalagi abis itu nama doi langsung meroket banget.

Yang gue kagumin adalah kemampuan doi nulis lagu, melodi maupun lirik. like he always says, he’s a big fan of doo wops music which contains a simple melody with only 4 chords to play. the simple melody makes the song is easy to listen to by all people. di tambah liriknya yang juga simpel, apa adanya, gak berbelit-belit seperti kebanyakkan lagu yang sok pake kalimat puitis yang akhirnya bikin orang nggak ngerti makna lagu sebenarnya itu apa. Simple song seems like Bruno’s trademark and that’s where the attractiveness lies within.

dan satu hal lagi yang bikin gue kagum berat sama doi: his VOICE. damn it! Bruno Mars kalo nyanyi live sama suara rekaman tuh bener-bener gak ada bedanya lho! Banyak kan artis yang suaranya di rekaman sama kalo nyanyi live beda, biasanya lebih bagusan di rekaman karena pake auto tune segala macem yang bikin suaranya jadi super duper bening, bersih, dan gak pitchy. tapi kalo Bruno Mars… boleh diliat video-video konsernya di youtube. malah, lagu-lagu versi live nya dia lebih seru daripada rekamannya, kayak penampilannya di Grammy Awards baru-baru ini (sumpah yang ini epic parah), atau di acara NBA All Star (go youtube it!). he always puts a twist to it.

wah, gila udah lama banget lho gue gak pernah nge fans sama artis sampe sebegini nya, sampe gue bela-belain ngantri tiketnya dari jam 3 pagi, sampe gue ulas di blog segala hahahaha I know this may look cheesy, but I really love this guy for his talent. well, his hotness is a bonus, I guess

This is what I call ‘determination’

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you this:

 

yes, I GOT THE BRUNO MARS TICKETSSSSS!!! WOO HOOOOO!!! I AM BEYOOOOOOND EXCITEDDDD!!!

 

Lo semua harus tau ya gue sama temen gue ngantri tiket ini tuh dari JAM 3 PAGI!!! Gue jalan dari rumah jam setengah 3 pagi, nyampe rumah Adrie Subono jam 3 pagi dan jam segitu yang ngantri udah sekampung aja donggggggg!! gila banget. untung rumahnya doi gak ribet gitu, sekali jalan langsun ketemu, gak pake nyasar dulu. gue pikir gue nyampe jam segitu tuh udah terlalu niat, taunya masih ada yg jauh lebih niat lagi (katanya ada yang dari jam 12 malem udah nangkringin rumah Adrie Subono ckckckckck). Malahan sebelomnya gue mikir mau ngantri dari jam 6 pagi aja. untung gak jadi! untung temen gue ngasih tau waktu temennya ngantri tiket Maroon 5, orang2 udah pada ngantri dari jam 4 pagi karena di bagiin nomor antriannya jam segitu. tadi gue baru di kasih nomor antrian jam 6 pagi. gue dari rumah bener2 belom tidur sama sekali karena kebiasaan tidur subuh. akhirnya begitu selesai dikasih nomor antrian, gue langsung pulang ke rumah terus tidur. balik lagi ke pondok indah jam 10an, nunggu sebentar kira2 setengah jam baru akhirnya nomor gue dipanggil.

 

gue sama sekali nggak menyesal ngantri tiket dari pagi2 buta begitu karena ternyata tiketnya sold out dimana2, even yg online juga sold out! tadi di rumah Adrie Subono banyak yang kebagian nomor antrian karena pada dateng siang dan akhirnya gak dapet nomor. yang gak dapet nomor gak bakalan dapet tiket gitu karena tiketnya jg cuma terbatas kan.

 

pas lagi transaksi tiket di dalem, orang yg ngelayanin gue beli tiket bilang gini, “Yah mbak, jadi gak tahun baruan (cina) dong ya?” Gue bilang, “Wah mas, UNTUNGNYA saya udah nggak ngerayain imlek jadi beli Bruno Mars. Lagian, kalo imlekkan pun saya juga bakal tetep dateng ke sini. Imlek kan tiap tahun bisa, lah Bruno Mars kan cuma sekali doang.” terus doi ketawa2 sambil ngangguk2 tanda setuju, mungkin dipikirannya gue adalah kaum Tionghoa yg paling murtad yg nggak peduli sama tradisi tahun baru Cina. Excuse me, but seriously, I don’t give a damn. gue gak peduli gak dapet angpao isi duit, angpao isi tiket Bruno Mars udah cukup buat gue *sedaaaap*

HOLLY SHITTTTT!!!! FINALLY, BRUNO!!!!!!!!! YES, Bruno Mars is going to throw a concert in our beloved country, Indonesia on 5 APRIL 2011!!! NOTE THAT DOWN, BOYS AND GIRLS!!!!

If you don’t know who the hell this dude is, let me tell you one thing: He’s like the god of hit maker with a talent of producing wonderful songs! you can check out his album, Doo Wops and Hooligans, there is not a single bad track in the album. NOT EVEN ONE!!!

 

Oh God, I can’t believe this finally happens! FINALLY!!! I’mma prepare myself to sing through the entire concert! This concert is gonna be sickkkkk!!!!!!!

Mr. Obama

Just watched Obama’s speech today on TV. His speech was really moving and inspiring.

Actually, I think anyone can really do the speech. But why did Obama make the speech sounds so beautiful and powerful? For me, it’s because of his charm and charisma. He really has this huge charisma spreading among people; he’s different. Also he has this young spirit inside him that makes him a lovable person. He’s the kind of guy that is easy to be loved by any people, you know.

 

About his speech, I am so inspired by how he brought it to the table. Through his speech, I feel that he awakens the spirit of Indonesian people to rise and make a better Indonesia. His speech is a wake up call to us Indonesians to not give up on our country. And once again, his charm makes us want to listen to every words he said even though he’s another country’s president. He just has this ability to inspire ANY people through his words.

 

But ironically, it is not our own president that moved and inspired us through the speech. It is not our own president that motivate us to rise like Obama did. I just wish that SBY has a huge charm like Obama, but well, nobody’s the same and nobody’s perfect.

And just like one of my friend’s tweet said, Obama is easy to be accepted because, part of him, he’s still an Indonesian and we proud of it. Inside of each and every one of us, we are proud to be Indonesian

 

PS: I think Obama’s strategy to win young people’s heart is very clever, because he really wins most of us

Viva Las Vegas

Okay, I thought a 3 month holiday will leave me many stories to be written in this blog. But, apparently, it is not. So, I am very sorry for the lack of posting, it’s not that I’ve been busy with holiday (believe me, I always stay on my bed almost every day), but I just don’t know what to write T____T

Anywaaaaaaaayyyy….

Since I watched the movie “When In Rome“, I practically fell in love with this actor named Josh Duhamel.

I KNOOOWWW!!!! GORGEOUS, ISN’T HE?!?!?!?! well, sadly, at first I didn’t know that he is married to Fergie. yeah, what a lucky bitch girl.

and if you guys notice, Josh also playing in all Transformer sequels as Major William Lenox, and also Win A Date With Tad Hamilton as Tad Hamilton.

anyway, then a friend of mine told me that Josh was playing on this TV series titled “Las Vegas“.

I wasn’t interested to watch the show at first, but then I gave it a try because I wanted to see Josh playing on the series so badly. But after I watched some of the episodes, I find that this tv series is REALLY interesting. What I really love about it is that the series has the whole package: Action with a twist of comedy, romance, family and friendship. What would you expect more? and also not to forget the amazing casts and story line. Honestly, at first I only found Josh Duhamel to be the most attractive character among all. But soon after I got captivated by the show, I practically fell in love with ALL of the characters. each of the characters has a different yet attractive personalities that makes the show more interesting.

BUT TOO BAD…. NBC canceled the show!!!!!!! IT REALLY PISSED ME OFF! Why? Because the ending of the last season (season 5) IS  A CLIFFHANGER!!!! And what pissed me off more is that NBC didn’t do anything to please their viewers. NBC didn’t even give a chance to the show creator, Gary Scott Thompson, to make a decent and nice ending. And as for now, I keep wondering to myself, how the hell is going to happen in season 6!! shame on you, NBC!! I heard that NBC had canceled many great shows and it pissed off the viewers. GOOD. because it’s pissing me off too!

I was wondering around the Las Vegas forums and I read through all the threads in the forums, and I found out that there are a lot of Las Vegas fans who want the show to be back on air. In fact, they had launched a mission called “Save Las Vegas” campaign where they sent the NBC letters and even MONEY in order to get Las Vegas back on air because we know that one of the reason Las Vegas can’t get back on tv is because the cost to re-run the new season is pretty expensive. the creator itself really wanted to continue the season, or at least made a proper ending, but NBC just didn’t want to so there’s nothing he can do about it. Las Vegas is one of the most expensive and highly cost tv series in the industry. And also a “Baby Booties” campaign. See, we really ARE loyal fans and NBC just doesn’t give a damn about it!

But up to right now, I see so many people are still yelling at many forums, insisting to bring Las Vegas back to live. I just hope someday, NBC would be “sober” enough to finally let Las Vegas back on tv. Or maybe some other networks would be smart enough to take over Las Vegas and make a huge come back on screen. I really hope it would happen.

And let me tell you this NBC: ONCE YOU BRING BACK LAS VEGAS ON TV, YOU’LL REGRET YOUR STUPID DECISION ON CANCELING THE SHOW! IN FACT, YOU’LL GAIN MUCH MORE PROFIT THAN EVER BECAUSE EVERYBODY, AND I REALLY MEAN EVERYBODY, HAS BEEN WAITING FOR LAS VEGAS TO COME BACK! TRUST ME!

once again her naked pictures leaked into the internet. seemed like she didn’t learn from her past. again, she repeated the same mistake. well, in this case, she repeated the same “scandal”.

PS : hari ini gue, toga dan willy nganter frangky ke airport. yes, the day has come. today, one of my bestfriend, frangky, went to Switzerland for university. I wish him a very goodluck in life. hope he is always in His blessing.

TTM versi Swedia

sebenernya gue udah mau nge post dari kemaren, cuma belom nemu lagunya.

mungkin lo semua udah pada tau deh, kalo ada band luar yang nyanyiin lagu TTM nya Ratu pake bahasa Inggris. liriknya sih diubah bahasa dan artinya, judulnya aja jadi Dreaming Of The Time. tapi nada lagunya sama banget. yang nyanyiin namanya Ladylike, girl band asal Swedia, mereka sih udah minta ijin untuk meng-copy lagunya.
